If you are a fan of La Casa de Papel, otherwise known as Money Heist on Netflix, visiting St. Petersburg will be very meaningful for you! This city in Florida houses the world-famous Salvador Dali Museum, with works of the man behind the Dali mask himself. Of course, you will also not be disappointed with the beaches it has to offer. Beyond the beautiful beachfront, this place is known for its sunny days, giving it a title of “most consecutive days with sunshine” at 768 days.
Getting To St. Petersburg
Drivers could take the north-south Interstate 275 that connects to I-75 in Tampa and Manatee County. Parking spaces are sufficient all around the city, with a capacity of 25,000 vehicles.
You can also take the Downtown Looper, a motorized trolley service that can cater to guests staying in downtown hotels and sites. It is available every 15 minutes for only 50 cents per boarding. The Central Avenue Trolley connects passengers from the Downtown Looper to Edge, Grand Central Districts, beaches, and other tourist spots in the city.
Aviation is just one of the historical contributions of St. Petersburg, with the Tampa Airboat Line in 1914. Tampa International Airport (TPA) is one of the world’s best airports consistently. It is conveniently located 25 minutes away from downtown. There are endless commercial flights arriving and leaving this airport. The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) is just 15 minutes away from downtown and can cater to some commercial carriers and private flights. A city-owned public airport located downtown itself can serve private flights of VIPs. It is quite ironic, isn’t it? Nonetheless, that counts as one of the three entry points to St. Petersburg by air.
The largest city-owned marina in Florida can be found here with 240 miles of shoreline. It offers many water activities, including transient dockages, fueling, and everything you might need. You can even just dock for a few hours and enjoy the city!
